Shifty Shellshock, Lead Singer of Crazy Town, Has Died

Seth Binzer, better known by his stage name Shifty Shellshock, died at the age of 49 on June 24, 2024.

Binzer was the frontman of the rap-rock band Crazy Town, which rose to fame in the late 1990s with their hit song "Butterfly."

According to a statement from the band's publicist, Binzer died of an overdose of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid. The statement did not provide any further details about his death.

Binzer was born in Los Angeles, California, on August 23, 1974. He began his music career in the early 1990s, performing with the band Phunk Junkeez. In 1999, he co-founded Crazy Town with guitarist Epic Mazur.

Crazy Town's debut album, "The Gift of Game," was released in 2000 and went triple platinum. The album featured the hit singles "Butterfly" and "Pretty Boy." The band went on to release two more albums, "Darkhorse" in 2002 and "Crazy Town" in 2005.

In addition to his music career, Binzer also appeared on reality television shows such as "Celebrity Fit Club" and "Gone Country." He also had a role in the 2003 film "Grind."

Binzer's death is a tragic loss for the music community. He was a talented musician and performer who brought joy to many people with his music.
